Good reasons! Liked the Arthur bit I also thing he knew but really wanted to ignore it. They are not my favorite couple it goes on and off for very long and Guinevere always prefers Arthur and what it stands for.I like to read about them though.

thanx :) I also like to think that Arthur preferred to ignore the whole thing…but it must be written well, because I don’t like Arthur to look too weak…sometimes he can look like, weak even if he’s of course not :D I don’t like to think about arthur as a fool… hence the fact that I don’t like to believe he was fooled by them and didn’t know a thing about their affair. The fact that Guinevere chooses Arthur in the end and never leave him even if she loves Lancelot adds interest: she could have run away with Lancelot -like it happens in Deirdre and Grainne’s story: they dumped their husbands and run away with their lovers…it was a different time and a different place, Ireland pre-middleages… but eve Isolde , who lived in the same time, chooses Tristan over her husband, while Guinevere doesn’t- but she doesn’t. And I think it’s clearly because she doesn’t want to -she’s a strong willed woman, she could have run away with lance if she wanted to, I’m sure of it-. It’s interesting to consider why she doesn’t want to end up a marriage she’s not completely happy and satisfied with (otherwise she’d never picked a lover) to run away with her lover…and why she decided for this triangle, and she’s totally fine with it. She never fully chooses one of them -if not in the very end, when she is offered the possibility to have a new life, a legal one, with Lancelot and she refuses for Arthur’s sake even if he’s dead. She never leaves Arthur’s side but she never breaks up with Lancelot -for real- as well…

they are a complicated couple, that’s why I love reading/writing about them. And they have a pretty insane relationship..I love this kind of twisted things in books…I’m not happy with plain stuff ahah xD

I agree I really like King Arthur and I think that he saw the cheating but he ignored it for the peace of the kingdom and his own mind. 

About Guinevere I agree that her story is interesting because there are a lot of factors. For example the not abandoning Arthur thing I think that she does it because she likes being queen and more than that she knows she is a great queen and she is part of what makes Arthur’s court so magnificent and she doesn’t like to destroy that because she help him in the construction of his kingdom. In comparison I Isolde couldn’t care less about the honor of the court of King Mark. 

Also Lancelot I think he needs his suffering as a character to give him consistence without that I don’t think he would be boring but he could be a little boring and he can be closed and selfish sometimes so this relation with the royal couple really gives him deep. 

So it’s really good thinking material
